The Novak one...well, I can see the bad taste of it true (especially considering how much Kelly undoubtedly hated Novak thus the egging on of his demise!) but then again after reading those old NATIONAL LAMPOONs this stuff comes off rather tame in comparison. And as for "a-political crank" well, you might just might be right on the target with that one, in your own way of course. Never read ATLAS SHRUGGED either though Steve Ditko comics are just fine with me. A lot more intersting than Rand and besides, there's none of that dirty sex in 'em at all!Christopher Stiglianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17107248034597839482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6910067.post-17272088807780319882009-10-11T14:05:48.886-04:002009-10-11T14:05:48.886-04:00The Dr. Suess comic is pretty funny. Sometimes you seem like an a-political crank. Go back to Atlas Shrugged and church and see if they dig your "gonzo" rocknroll.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09407825395932360777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6910067.post-36067210966680894592009-10-01T21:08:05.457-04:002009-10-01T21:08:05.457-04:00Actually it's the guy who manufactures those S...Actually it's the guy who manufactures those Southwestern paper plates. That is, to be perfectly snide and cynical about what that first commentator wrote, I guess. Historians of this jive, please note this addendum.Christopher Stiglianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17107248034597839482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6910067.post-7487177465577032622009-09-27T17:47:47.148-04:002009-09-27T17:47:47.148-04:00"G"-Thanks for the information on the St..."G"-Thanks for the information on the Stooges and Imperial Dogs...as for the former, I should have known that those rarities sounded strangely familiar especially with the uneven sound quality giving them a strangely eerie effect. What a great idea for someone to add bass and drums to those Pop/Williamson "demo" recordings from '72 and pass them off as authentic Stooge material! Too bad the folks at Cleopatra didn't rework that boss take of "Waiting For My Man" or even that snippet of "Venus in Furs" for us Velvet Underground fanatics.

As for the Imperial Dogs, the DVD's out NOW and I hear Bomp! has 'em/ Try Youtube for some tasty tidbits of this one-camera b&w video production which has the same sorta strange "you are there" feeling of some surviving cybercast clip from the 21st-century era CBGB days.

As far as my retort to the first commentator goes, well I guess I had a little too much of that cold medicine given it's rather brief, curt and punctually incorret stature. I'll still stand by what I wrote, although if I had to do it again I'd've edited myself a lot more before posting. But really, I must admit that I am SHOCKED that the guy who draws those political cartoons's views are 180 degrees opposed to mine. After all, I am a highly in favor of fathers running away from their families and boy that George Carlin sure was a great asset to our highly developed culture! All kidding aside though, don't you think that the anti-Dr. "Suess" cartoon had a shred of truth to it given ol' Theodore Geisel's strongly-held communist views (he being a political cartoonist for PM of all things, where he really primed the hoards for not only WW II but unabashed Japanese hatred) which festered well into his final years even to the point when he spewed anger at pro-lifers who quoted the line "a person's a person no matter how small" from HORTON HEARS A WHO! I guess he, like his wife, was a rabid eugenicist as well which come to think of it really fit in well with the smart set credo of not only those days, but ours. Sure could use more children's book writers like him around, eh?Christopher Stiglianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17107248034597839482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6910067.post-63968293473380635872009-09-26T01:54:21.938-04:002009-09-26T01:54:21.938-04:00Forgot to add regarding the More Power LP...
